The Nook - Saint Paul Minnesota - Blink and You will Miss IT! But DON'T Blink Because You DON'T Won't to Miss IT!

If your in the Saint Paul, Minnesota area and your looking for Spot On food with a cozy pub vibe. Then look no further because The Nook is The Place To LOOK! Let your Google Maps take you to 492 South Hamline Ave., St. Paul, MN 55116. When you arrive the unassuming appearance from the outside is deceptive. As you walk in the nostalgic decor of yester year and the energetic vibe makes you think; I'm in the right place!

The Nook has been around since 1938. Previously a gas station and then before that it was a horse stable in the 1920's. Ted Casper and Mike Runyon opened up in 2000. With burger recipes from previous owner/cook Mickey Bransen they hit the ground running.

The Nook has been serving #hamburgers for nearly 70 years. " A small place with BIG burgers... And there's NO doubt why they have the Best Burgers in St. Paul. USA Today voted The Nook (10 Best Burgers in the USA). With many other Best Of's - the list is long. Pretty impressive to say the least!

The day we travel home seems like the days we find the best places! Our batting average is close to 1000%. Well it seems like it. Our flight was later in the afternoon from Saint Paul/Minneapolis Airport to Atlanta. So we decided to find a place in the Saint Paul area to eat and then hit the road. Well we hit a homerun! Literally!!

Minnesota is known for sports, food, & having the twin cities Saint Paul & Minneapolis. Speaking of Twins - The Minnesota Twins! Some Hall of Famers: Rod Carew (Childhood Favorite), Kirby Puckett, Harmon Killebrew, Joe Mauer and more... Did I mention Paul Molitor?!? One of the Greats!

How appropriate is it to name an award winning burger after a Hall of Famer. Well the Paul Molitor Burger is Worthy of Hall of Fame Praise! Using Butcher Cut Ground Black Angus Chuck from (Rancher's Legacy Meat Co.) and Stuffed with Pepperjack Cheese! It comes on a freshly baked locally sourced bun OMG!!! Tell your tastebuds to be ready for an Explosion of Flavor. Literally!!! Actually our neighbors to our right almost got cheezed! Yes pepperjack cheese burst out of the burger. Absolutely Amazing!

The Paul Molitor Burger

Let me rewind. Reverse Reverse! For starters Fried Pickles and Peppers. Plank style served with Horseradish Mayo Dipping Sauce. Crunch on the outside and delicious pickle on the inside. Some of the Best Fried Pickles Ever!

If your a Cheese Lover (Like Me) the Hand- Dipped Cheese Curds is Definitely a go too!

If your not a #burgerlover I will forgive you!

Then you have to try the Walleye Fish Tacos.

They will knock your socks off!!! Literally!!!

Fried Walleye Fish served on soft flour tortillas with cabbage, pico, cilantro, and fresh lime... Fantastic!

What makes people comeback? Well it's gotta be the friendly cozy pub style feel. With energy in the atmosphere, possibly because the food is fantastic and the folks are happy :)

With a sure fire combination of all these great ingredients it totally explains the success this place has had!

If you are a foodie Check out the #dinersdriveinsanddives episode Season 2 - Episode 12. The Triple DDD locations are almost always a go too. And they did not miss on this one!

If you love bowling like I do walk down stairs to one of the oldest bowling alleys in Minnesota. Casper & Runyon's Ranham Bowling Center. I was blown away by the Nostalgic Vibe that came from this little bowling center. Opened in 1938 you step back into yesteryear. Ranham has 8 total lanes and ball returns that are above the ground, so cool!

Ranham Bowling Center(Downstairs) - Such a Nostalgic Vibe!

The Nook has the best of both worlds! Fantastic Food and a historical bowling venue. If your in the Saint Paul, MN area don't miss out on The Nook. Your taste buds will NEVER forgive you!

The overall experience was Amazing! Great energy with Over the Top Food!
