The Long Island ALL in One... Well That's Buoy One Seafood Market & Restaurant!
Fresh Seafood Galore And More...
Late flights (arrivals) along with a hunger for anything can sometimes put you in a spot you wish you weren't in later, If you get what I'm saying. As we arrived at our hotel we ditched the bags and headed for Food.
Thankfully we were close too a "Great Catch". Our drive along with Google Maps brought us to 1175 West Main Street, Riverhead, NY. We "docked" our vehicle in the parking lot of Buoy One. From the outside Buoy One is deceiving. It looks like a modest seafood market that should be sitting in the middle of a marina or port where fishing boats just off loaded there "fresh catch". But the end result is much different.
The initial feeling I got when we walked up was this place is going to be Good! We walked in and it was Fresh seafood galore!
Ready to cook stuffed JUMBO shrimp, Salmon burgers, snow crab legs, and plenty more! Wishing we could pack to travel when we flew back to Alabama was a thought.
But our focus was on our empty stomachs and Buoy One's menu. We took a seat at a table and settled in. Service was prompt and very friendly! We started with fresh Clams on the half shell. No doubt these were fresh, right off the boat! But don't get "Stuffed" before your entree, unless you try the Outstanding "Stuffed Oysters"! Freshly shucked pan seared panko breaded oysters, stuffed with creamy shrimp, topped with a Thai glaze, Oh Yeah!! Another fantastic starter!
My wife decided to go with the New England Clam Chowder. Fantastic choice! Filled with Fresh Clams, corn, and did I mention Fresh Clams. Adjective: Outstanding!

Hook & Cook - well it felt like it! Maybe if I was telling a Fish Story, but I decided to go with one of my favorite hand helds - The Fried Cod Fish Sandwich. Fresh fried cod fish on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato & NOLA sauce. Mmmmm! Straight to the point - Crunchy on the outside & Flaky & Flavorful on the inside! I had my choice of Idaho Fries and BBQ Coleslaw. Both perfect choices to compliment The Fried Cod Fish Sandwich! Would definitely order this one again!

The O.G.(Original) Buoy One - Riverhead location has been open since 2003. It sets the standard for fresh New England style seafood. Check out the Fresh Seafood Counter for Fish by the pound: Flounder, Codfish(My FAVE!), Tuna, Salmon, and More... Did I mention Lobster?!? My wife's favorite! And of course clams, mussels, snow crab legs, scallops & shrimp.
If you live in or near Long Island you may want to consider Buoy One for some Fantastic catering for your next outing. Buoy One offers fresh Clambakes which includes: lobster, clams, shrimp, mussels, corn, and potatoes. A Great combo! Excellent choice for events or large groups.
