From Baltimore its I-95 North or South?!?... The Food Scene Will Rock Your Mouth!

Baltimore Inner Harbor

Lincoln Memorial

A graduation trip turned into one of the Best Foodie Trips I've EVER been on! From D.C. to Baltimore to Delaware. Usually my articles are about a certain place, a review with insight into the food, restaurant, or owner(s). But not this time. It's about the whole enchilada, pardon the pun. Geeze that was a terrible

My expectations were well I really didn't have any. Hard to believe but it was the truth. I did not know what to expect. I knew crab cakes were iconic in this area but that was really it.

Lets start with the Frontier Airlines flight from Atlanta to BWI. The TSA check point lines were fairly short and moved very well. That was good. Our flight was on time so boarding and finding our seats for 7 was well easy. Yes 7! I kinda felt like the McCallister's (Home Alone Reference For The Ones That Don't Know). But truly 1/2 the size.

We made it to BWI 20 minutes early our pilot must have had it in HIGH gear, Foot On The Gas, Pedal to the Metal, you get what I'm talking about. Well are appetites were heading in the same direction.

After picking up our rental car, our first destination was food. We decided to dine at Bandito's Tacos & Tequila, White Marsh. No not the single family owned restaurant style place that is a hidden gem but none the less we were pleasantly suprised!

Banditos has 6 locations spread out over Maryland & Virginia. White Marsh, Towson,

Maple Lawn, & Columbia. In VA - Arlington & Fairfax.

More than Tacos - Street Quesadillas, Burritos, Bowls & Salads. But Tacos is part of there name for a reason! Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos were AMAZING! Topped with slaw, bang bang sauce and salsa verde - queso fresco absolutely over the top! We mixed it up with a Baja Fish Taco - Blackened Tempura with cabbage, chipotle mayo, pico, & crema... I would walk back from Alabama to eat another, well maybe take #frontierairlines to get me there a little quicker.

There chips and salsa were fantastic. That's usually a tough thing to write about because chips and salsa are such a staple at Mexican style restaurants. But these were thin light and crispy. Salsa was fresh and full of flavor.

Baja Fish and Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

By the way give me a bushel of the Mexican Street Corn! Yes, I said a BUSHEL! Holy Moly... Grilled Corn on the Cob - Lime - Mayo - Tajin(seasoning) - Cotija(cheese) - Crema.

The vibrant decor with good energy makes it definitely a place to comeback too!

Coffee stop day 2 on the way to visit Washington D.C. - For everyone that knows me Coffee is a must. It owns me, LITERALLY, ask my wife. Not patting myself on the back but giving you an idea on my coffee history, I rank in the Top 10% of Coffee reviewers on GOOGLE. Well Aveley Farms Coffee Roasters did not disappoint. #aveleyfarmscoffeeroasters is a great place to walk in grab your favorite coffee drink do a little bit of work, relax, and enjoy the rest of the day. From tasty pastries to refreshing juices, they have a little bit of everything for any palette. If your in Towson, MD stop by - 42 W Chesapeake Ave, Towson, MD 21204. Visit: @aveleyfarmscoffee

After a visit to Washington D.C. and taking in sights of The White House, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Smithsonian Institute (May I say Pretty Spectacular) our appetites were getting our attention.

Well we may have "Found" the Best yet, Founding Farmers in D.C. Easy parking, Eclectic environment with a friendly buzz and Fantastic Food!

Just three blocks from The White House, puts it in a prime spot for tourist and locals as well. Heck if I was The Prez I would have a Door Dasher dedicated from the Founding Farmers to the White House! No doubter.

For starters Fried Green Tomatoes, that would be an excellent choice.

The Chicken Pot Pie came straight out of my Grandma's Oven and Straight to our table. Absolutely Amazing!

Burger fan? Gotta try there Cheddar Cheeseburger with Bacon and the fries were delicious!

The menu is plentiful and there was no disappointments to be had. Founding Farmers sources from small farmers all over the country. Which stands to reason why there food seems so fresh. Good Food - Good Mood!

Final Day

We took a road trip to Havre de Grace, Maryland. One of our goals was to visit a lighthouse. Concord Point Lighthouse was our choice. Not overwhelming by size, but so much history! The lighthouse sits at the mouth of the Susquehanna River where it flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Constructed in 1827 its the 2nd oldest lighthouse in Maryland. It also aided in navigation for a 148 years! Pretty cool! John O'Neill received a presidential appointment to be the 1st keeper of the light house during the War of 1812, and the British raid of 1813.

Leaving the lighthouse, coffee was the 1st thing on my mind. Needless to say Concord Point Coffee was a few blocks away. After an Iced Caramel Latte we headed towards Delaware. If we are close to another state we usually try to go, just to say we've been there. And of course get a magnet from the state we visited. That's my wife's idea. She loves collecting them.

Next stop Newark, Delaware. We checked out the University of Delaware Blue Hens stadium and bookstore. Picked up some merch and headed for food. Our destination - Timothy's of Newark.

It was a fantastic choice for lunch. An American style restaurant pub with a sandwiches, wings, starters, and more. If you're looking for a starter the Crab Dip is Over the Top! Sweet Potato Tots - Geeze!!!

Chesapeake Chicken Sandwich

The Food was KILLER! The Chesapeake Chicken Sandwich was OFF THE CHAIN!

Grilled chicken breast topped with crab Imperial and Jack cheese, served on a grilled roll. Absolutely Delicious...

The Only disappointment of the Trip was a Triple DDD seafood restaurant. It was our last night and we thought we saved the best for last. Well the last was the least. I usually don't write on my blog or Google reviews about bad experiences but occasionally your hopes are up but your experience is down. Service at best was a C-! Rarely did we get a refill and our food was well just ok. We had 7 of us eating and 1 good meal from a Non-Seafood Eater... lol...

By the way it was Jimmy's Seafood. We may have caught them (pardon the pun) on a bad night.

Needless to say overall the trip was amazing! We got to visit historical sites and dig into some Over the Top food! If your thinking about going to the Baltimore/D.C. area I would recommend.

Tip: White Marsh area is pretty cool, good place to stay, shop, and eat.
