Copy of GOOD FOOD & "SPIRITS"- LITERALLY!

The Haunted Hamburger - Jerome, AZ

North of Phoenix and Southwest of Flagstaff on historic 89A its off the beaten path but NOT out of the way! It's The Haunted Hamburger!

Traveling from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon we decided to take a detour through the scenic Verde Valley to 410 Clark Street, Jerome, AZ. The windy roads took us to historic downtown Jerome. Rustic, Historic, and Unique in many aspects.

Jerome is an old copper mining town sitting on top of Cleopatra Hill. Booming in the early 19th century, the town was once known as the Wickedest Town in the West! Rugged yet Absolutely Beautiful! Art galleries, gift shops, wine tasting and restaurants now line the streets. But the "Golden" nugget is an early 19th century boarding house that has been renovated into one of the most iconic hamburger places in Arizona. It's The Haunted Hamburger!

Lets start with the name (The Haunted Hamburger). How did it come about? During renovations is when the unusual things started happening. The owners Eric & Michelle Jurisin were noticing tools going missing, Specifically Hammers?!? Why Hammers? Well possibly the "Spirits" of the past Tradesman that occupied the boarding house in the early 1900's.

These hammers would go missing then pop up in the most unusual places. And there have been more Strange things happen from cans flying off the shelves to doors getting slammed for no apparent reason. There is also an image (apparition) of a woman that has been captured in photographs - unexplained. (See below)

But If your not the burger type "NO FEAR"! There's something for you too.

Where do I start? For starters the Jumbo Salted Pretzel! Warm & Soft served with Spicy Mustard & Cheese Sauce. Something to definitely consider munching on prior to ordering one of the Award Winning Burgers!

Three words: Baja Fish Sandwich! An Outstanding choice for anyone unless you're allergic to Crazy Good!

Beer Battered Cod , Shredded Cabbage & (My Favorite) Pepper Jack Cheese with House made Baja Sauce! Pick any of their fantastic sides to go with it - Onion Rings, Twice Baked Potato, Jalapeno Coleslaw, or Fries!

Burger Lovers Beware! Once you try the Amazing 1/2lb Angus Burger with an in house baked bun, you may be "Scared" to try another burger anywhere else! Not to mention I added Cheddar Cheese & Bacon (Bacon Cheeseburger). Voted #1 Burger in Arizona, The Haunted Hamburger has a Toppings Bar! Yes a Toppings Bar! My wife was in Love, Yes with the choice of toppings. Tomatoes, Onions, Pickles, Lettuce, and Anything Else you want on a Burger. If your really hungry definitely try the Double Haunted Burger! It has double meat, cheese, and bacon on the house baked bun.

You can be seated at one of the tables inside the historic dining room or make your way outside to the Palace Patio with beautiful views of the Verde Valley. While waiting on your food or making your way out after a wonderful meal, make your way to the Souvenir Shop to check out all The Haunted Hamburger collectibles from drinkware to caps and some Awesome T's. Oh yeah don't forget to check out "How Do I Get to The Haunted Hamburger?", Recipe Book with cool back stories of the Jurisin's Journey!
