Twisted Root Burger Co. - Deep Ellum
While visiting Dallas, Texas we made our way to the historical sight that forever changed History, Dealey Plaza! The sight of the JFK assassination! And the location of what is Formerly The Texas School Book Depository Building on Elm Street. It's the sixth floor window of this building that Lee Harvey Oswald "allegedly" shot and killed President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. Don't scold me yet! I'm quoting the recorded historic landmark plaque on the outside of the building.
We could go down a rabbit hole that would take Twists and turns for sure on this topic. But that might be for another day. After taking in ALL the history around Dealey Plaza, we developed an appetite for something good. #TripleDlocations are usually a good place to start. From Dealey Plaza it was a 6 minute drive. Let Google Maps take you to 2615 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX. The drive brought us to the original Twisted Root Burger Co... (Deep Ellum Neighborhood).
When we walked in we immediately thought this place has an Awesome Vibe! Full of personality. Not your typical burger joint. Twisted Root Burger Co. was established in 2006. This is the first Twisted Root Burger restaurant to open and in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas.
Twisted Root Burger Co. offers 1/2 pound Fresh gourmet burgers. Buns are baked fresh and are locally sourced. Over the Top Shakes: Smores, Chocolate, Vanilla, Oreo & More... They are made with an Out of this World House Made Custard! What two things go better together than an outstanding burger and spot on shake?!?
Condiments of All sorts! You name it they probably have it. Twisted Horse-Radish Dijon, Twisted Quincy's Grandpa's SECRET BBQ Sauce, Chipotle Ketchup, & the list goes on... Did I mention Barrels of Pickles?!? Yes, Barrels of Pickles!
Now lets Dive In to the menu of Burgers & More... We decided to go with of course one my favorites The Classic - 1/2 lb gourmet TX beef w/ cheddar cheese, lettuce, & tomato. I added homemade onion strings to my order. Absolutely Outstanding! This possibly is one of the Best Burgers I've ever sunk my teeth into! Best Burger West of the Mississippi River?!? Just Maybe!
Our youngest son decided to go with the All American! Add the veggies (Lettuce and Tomatoes) - 1/2 lb gourmet TX beef w/Double American cheese and of course Crispy Bacon! Yes, Bacon makes everything Great!
The most famous quote in Food History - "THAT'S TOO MUCH BACON" - SAID NO ONE EVER!!!
The Classic
Fresh, Juicy, and full of flavor! What other way is there to describe something so Good!
Twisted Root Burger Co. has a Unique "Buzz" pardon the pun, that well is rivaled by none.
Ray Charles Buzzer
From Chuck Norris quotes to a Ray Charles Restaurant Buzzer and Bigfoot (Yeti) covered bathroom doors. There's not a dull moment or thing in this Ultra Cool Burger Joint. This may have the coolest (funkiest/grooviest) decor inside a restaurant, grill, pub, or really any other eating establishment I've ever seen!
It's obvious that the owners and chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart have allowed their personalities & culinary skills to shine through in this Top Notch Burger Lovers Dream!
If you're in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area bring your appetite and experience fantastic food and service from Twisted Root Burger Co in an eye-popping environment!
